Christos Danakas has been awarded the Gold Prize in the Composition category at the World Classical Music Awards for his song cycle First Land (Πρώτη Γη) for high voice and piano. The award marks another important international distinction for First Land, following its 1st Prize at the Classical Music Stars International Competition in Gdańsk, Poland.

Written after many years of living away from Greece, First Land reflects on the idea of homeland not simply as a geographical place, but as an inner landscape shaped by memory, voices, and light. Across its four songs, the cycle explores themes of absence, longing, return, and belonging through original music and Greek poetry by the composer.

The work was recorded with soprano Maria Taxidou at Studio Park in Stuttgart and is available on all major digital streaming platforms.

This award represents another meaningful milestone in the continuing journey of First Land, a work that continues to reach new audiences through performance and international recognition.
