Christos Danakas
Christos Danakas was born in Kalamata, Greece. He had his first piano lesson at the age of 6. He finished his studies in Greece at the „Athenaeum Conservatory“ with Nelly Semitekolo, where he received his piano diploma in 2011.
In 2013 Christos Danakas moved to Germany, where he continued his studies. He entered the „Staatliche Hochschule für Musik Trossingen“ and studied his bachelor’s and master’s degree in piano solo with Prof. Raluca Chifane-Wagenhäuser. He graduated in 2020 with distinction.
He has recorded and played live concerts for the Greek public radio broadcaster (Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation). As a soloist he participated in a lot of national and international competitions, where he won prizes and distinctions, such as the national competition of the Greek „Ministry of Culture“, the international competition „W.A. Mozart“ in Kavala, Greece etc.
Christos Danakas took his first important steps in composition in 2019 with his „Music Stories“, a series of pieces for solo piano, and in 2021, he started composing music for short films. As a composer, Christos Danakas has received numerous awards at important music and film festivals in all over the world. Some of them are the „New York International Film Awards“, „Cannes World Film Festival“, „London Movie Awards“, „Los Angeles Film Awards“, „InterContinental Music Awards“, „Chicago Cinema Awards“, „Milan Gold Awards“, „Canadian Cinematography Awards“, „Budapest Film Festival“, „Istanbul Film Awards“, „European Cinematography Awards“, „American Music Track Awards“ etc.
He is now a jury member of „Apollo Global Music Awards“ and „Leda’s Monologues Film Festival“. He lives in Germany, where he gives concerts in many cities, such as Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Wuppertal, Wiesbaden, Düsseldorf, Karlsruhe and Ludwigsburg. He teaches piano in conservatories and music academies in Stuttgart.
