Christos Danakas

Christos Danakas was born in Kalamata, Greece, and began piano lessons at the age of six. He completed his studies in Greece at the Athenaeum Conservatoire, where he received his piano diploma in 2011.

In 2013 he moved to Germany and was admitted to the State University of Music in Trossingen, where he studied piano (Bachelor and Master of Music) and graduated with distinction in 2020.

Christos Danakas performs regularly as a soloist and chamber musician in various cities across Germany and abroad, including concert series such as the Candlelight Concerts in Germany (Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Wiesbaden, Karlsruhe, Wuppertal, Ludwigsburg, Mannheim) and Lumera – Mum Işığında in Turkey. He has produced recordings and given live performances for the Greek national broadcaster ERT (Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation). He has received numerous awards at national and international competitions, including the national competition of the Greek Ministry of Culture and the International “W. A. Mozart” Competition in Kavala.

Since 2020 he has increasingly devoted himself to composition. His piano cycle Music Stories, released in three albums, marks the beginning of his compositional work, followed by music for short films. With the song cycle First Land for high voice and piano, he expands his work into classical vocal composition; the work was awarded 1st Prize at the Classical Music Stars International Competition (Gdańsk, Poland) in the composition category. His works have received multiple awards at international music competitions and film festivals, including the New York International Film Awards, Los Angeles Film Awards, Cannes World Film Festival, London Movie Awards, Istanbul Film Awards, Budapest Film Festival, the InterContinental Music Awards, and further festivals across Europe, Asia and North America.

Christos Danakas teaches piano at music schools in Stuttgart and serves as a jury member at international music competitions and film festivals.
